PRE-APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMS

It Support

Every modern company needs IT support, whether it’s  network specialists, help desk agents, cloud administrators, information security analysts, web and app developers, or all of the above.

Get a head start on a high-demand career track!  Upon completing the  program, you will earn industry recognized credentials like CompTIA A+.

EMPLOYER-CONNECTED

Students in our pre-apprenticeships meet weekly with employer mentors who provide both technical and “soft” job skills that will help them thrive in their careers. These mentors coach students with their team project work, speak on  panels that help students learn about different types of tech industry job roles, present workshops on technical skills and non-technical aspects of varied job roles, and more.

Project-Centered

Project work is central to every program run by Computing For All. In the pre-apprenticeships, this means that students immediately apply academic learning to real-world projects. This promotes deeper learning, and equips students with a portfolio of project work to demonstrate their mastery to future employers.

Career Navigation

Throughout the pre-apprenticeship, we coach students on potential next steps — whether that’s an internship with an employer, a formal tech apprenticeship, a Career Launch pathway, or postsecondary education. Even after classes finish, we follow up with students to support them on their career path.

21st Century Job SKills

We offer two main pre-apprenticeship pathways: Software Development and IT Support. Both programs teach technical and employability skills, including resume, portfolio, and interview preparation, in addition to systems thinking. They also foster strong links with employer mentors that give students a window into wtech careers and help them imagine working in the tech industry.

Prerequisites:

This is a 270-hour program that builds the skills students need to enter a full-fledged coding apprenticeship, internship,  Career Launch program, or college,. To apply for the pre-apprenticeship, candidates must meet the following qualifying conditions:

  • Live in WA State

  • Be between 16 and 24 years old

  • Demonstrate financial need
