This quarter’s Pre-Apprenticeship Program Final Project presentations set a new standard — CFA instructors agreed it was the strongest cohort yet.
Students from Level 1 beginners to Level 7 Last Mile graduates showcased a creative, professional range of projects, including Python-built games and sophisticated web applications.
The growth in technical proficiency was evident and remarkable, as students progressed through each level of instruction. Projects reflected students’ creativity, teamwork, and real-world problem-solving abilities, including:
– PC part trackers and price comparison tools (Tech Zone)
– Grocery Buddy app for smarter shopping
– Job Seeker application tracking platform with hashtag#GenAI insights (Trackli)
– Stock market tickers and financial dashboards (Stoxie)
– Weather update tools and forecast applications (WeatherWise and Weatherify)
– Interactive gaming projects
Congratulations and a heartfelt appreciation to all of our students for their hard work and innovative ideas — and thank you to our dedicated teachers, mentors, and partners who guided them.
The diversity of solutions this quarter demonstrates why programs like PAP are critical for building Washington’s future tech workforce.
Our thanks to Microsoft’s Melroy D’Souza for mentoring our Level 7 Last Mile team. His bi-weekly coaching sessions provided feedback that inspired and elevated their final projects.
We deeply appreciate the employers, partners, mentors, and families who attended presentations on August 14th: Megara Potts (WaFd Bank), Nick Ellingson (WTIA), Chad Mullen (Esd 112 Open Doors Reengagement), Tamika Williams (LaGuardia Community College – Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP)), Brad Meyers (Rise Above), and Philip Lafornara and Diana Lafornara. Your presence and feedback meant everything to our students.
